Yup, always good to have one defender with that skill
It's all luck, nothing more. Whether bad or good.
For me Free Kick Specialist, Shadow Striker and One N one scorer.
Some SAs are clear on what exactly they do while others are quite a mystery. We first need to get some answers about what "being of one star higher quality for that opportunity" means and when "Counter abilities" activate, before we start discussing about which SA is best.
Take "defensive wall" for instance. All the wiki says about it is that it's the counter ability against FK specialists. Makes you wonder what exactly is the timing for it's activation. Does it activate everytime the opponent kicks a FK? Does it activate only when a FK specialist kicks a FK and is otherwise useless? Further more, does it activate when the player who kicks the FK crosses or does it only activate when the player kcking the FK shoots for the goal? And if we go even further... Is it only usefull against FKs or does it have hidden uses, like blocking long shots from SS or (as Hullabaloo said) making the player hard to get past? There are many factors to be taken into account before judging a SP I think.
p.s. I have to agree that FK and CK specialists are sure useful to have around, though.

In my opinion/experience corner spcialists are very effective. My one v one striker is my top scorer, defensive wall with the combination of pk stopper(goalie) using high pitch press and hard tackle has been quite effective. I have yet to see real results from my mc playmaker( still early though). One thing though is an mc shadow striker seems highly sout after in the transfer market. Still can't get my hands on one though. My thought is that these things also depend on your tactics. Would love to get an aerial header as well. Good topic
I like the corner specialist ability, the free kick ability, the aerial defender ability, the defensive wall ability and the shadow striker ability.
