    Palace Casuals Season Preview.

Palace Casuals start their 34th season at Level 30, at least in the League. In the Champions League, they are grouped with Level 31 teams, and have a higher Level Cup, too.

Casuals are going to have difficulty in enhancing their squad through the Transfer Market this season, if the day 1 TM is to be believed - very few 5* players avaialble, and those that are, and have decent Quality (x8/x9) are few and far between, resulting in Manager Bidding Frenzy... The Management obviously got lucky with #17 Iniesta this morning, as only had to fight off two other bidders.

The Cup has the following 128 teams in it:

I lost a bid at round 25. Second time that this happened; the last time was last year.

At the start of the knock-out rounds, there were about 4 players, and those remained for a few rounds, but one stubborn user kept bidding.

If I bade just before knock-out round 25, he would have lost as he did not bade further, but I did not want to take the risk as he was bidding just before the start of every knock-out round. So, he paid near double the market value for the player; it seemed that it was a fast-trainer though. Was the player worth 25 tokens? Maybe, especially due to the fact of the poor transfer market and no 5-star 'nordgens'. But, taking into account the overall price (25T and double the market value), not worth it. So, if any of you guys face a situation like this, it is better to step out earlier.

25 tokens lost on one player, and ealier I lost 7 tokens on another player. I did manage to win some bids, albeit in the higher rounds. That is enough for today.

Come on Gert, what if you finally see in your auction list a close to 6 stars fast trainer, relatively cheap in terms of market value for a 5-star fast trainer at your level (around 50% difference), that has relevant positions to the formations you usually use? The market was very poor today; like I have said, there were mostly 3-star nordgens and only two 4 star-nordgens earlier today. The player that came later were second-hand players, most of which were slow trainers, and yet there were bidding wars.

He isn't a fast trainer. Actually I would say medium to slow (because he is 23 y.o.) .
It's not worthy to spend more than 5T for players like him as he hasn't any sa which could give him some added value for re-selling.

How were your transfer markets today? It seems that for you, good 'nordgens' are usually present, especially on the first day for all of your accounts.

On mine, only there was a lot of 3 star 'nordgens' but not even one 5 star player. This is very poor for a first day of a season. Take into consideration that I was online very early, refreshed the list several times with time as the day proceeded, but in vain.

In this case a negotiations offer would've been better... I got a 25-y.o. player for 17T (due to intense bidding wars and lack of needed position players). I feel negotiations should be better in those levels. But it's of course insanely hard to find an ST/AML, which I got from negos. I'll now only need a multi position AMR then I won't be looking at the market for 2-3 seasons more.

AH AH — manager of Atlético Kolkata. Named in honour of my hometown club, Atlético de Kolkata, which won the inaugural edition of Indian Super League in 2014.

A good defence is the best offense.

I got a 5-star (99% Quality) second-hand ST/AML (22 years old; Corner Specialist) today after winning the bid at knock-out round 13 or so. But, it was relatively early; some players bade on this one, but did not went beyond the 5th-10th rounds, though one of the last bidders was among the stubborns (he was the one that I let to win a previous bid on an AMC/AMR), but he left and only a few bidders remained for this player, one of them persisting until knock-out round 13. If it was later in the day, that would have been more difficult to win; it could have gone to rounds 25 and above as shown on one of my posts. Those ST/AMC, ST/AML and ST/AMR may be easier to found on the auction market these days because such players are available directly (no training for the additional position required) on the recommendations list, and users might sold them later if they are no longer up to the quality they want them to be. But, still, expect bidding wars for such players, especially in the first two weeks.

For sure, those 25T lost could have been better spent. For instance, it could have been used for injection of more cash as this is lacking right now for transfers, or it could have been used for buying players later on in the season.

Your players will lag behind a lot in terms of quality after 2 seasons (unless you have fast trainers in your team). In fact, many of them might need to be sold after 1 season. The way this game functions, it is very difficult to keep the same players season after season unless you boost their quality (something that will be expensive unless you can a earn a ot of free green packs). Last year (2015), my main team had a mixture of fast, medium and slow trainers. Medium-fast trainers that were bought 2 seasons ago, definitely needed to be sold in at the start of the 3rd season. Fast and very fast trainers had to be power-trained at the start of the 3rd season. Those bought from the scout list, generally lasted for 2 seasons as scout quality or above; on their third season they were 5 star-players.
