High pressing is what Barcelona does. It's for attacking. And it consumes a hell lot of condition; man marking is better, and I don't think my players get a lot tired.

yeah Barca uses high pressing, someone told me once when using forced counter-attacks you should also use high pressing so I just stuck with that but thinking about it it does make your players more tired...I always use that for attacking though, I'll just change it to low pressing now when doing hard defending with forced counter-attacks against stronger teams. Cheers guys!

Man marking and low pressing, not zonal marking and high pressing? Damn I've been doing it wrong, that's good to know (how to set up counter-attacking vs strong teams) properly. Thanks man!

yea, counter attack doesn't fit with high pressing as the philosophy is to set your defense, wait for the opponent to come in your area (also to drug some of his defenders) and after wining the ball, to go in attack and outnumber his defenders.
I think this can be done also with zonal marking.
Actually that is what I use as with man-to-man you spend more condition.

Counter attacks also needs some condition eg, opponent must have less defenders,if opponent will have more attackers then man on man marking may not work so you can use zonal also.
