Funny I had the same thing happen to me. I had a defender named McFaydern and this season he kept performing a 5 or 6. I tried to raise his morale but the same damn BS happened. I was lucky to get a 3 star corner specialist defender who quickly leveled to a level 4. I immediately changed McFaydern's number from 5 to 30 and gave his old number to the new player. xD
Does anyone have an idea why this happens? Even my 27 year old TWO star striker gets a goal or two every game, if not an assist. Again, he's Two Stars and seriously old. >_<

I had the same problem and sold him, what you need to do is buy the more expensive ones not the ones you think you have got a good deal on.

Ive a defender that rates really bad but scores every other game and seems to be good in the game commentary, trains brilliantly, i did drop him but didnt notice much difference so play him! Still rates 4/5 but tbh who cares lol

I had this with a few players that I bought last season. What I did was just keep playing them and eventually they get better. They were getting 5 & 6 ratings. Now they get 7/8/9 and rarely even get below 7 now.

i boug ht a goalie. 6 stars. he is 33 yo. in every game he gets a 5 in rating, even if my team wins 3-0. Weird

That's not as annoying as scoring 2 goals, highest rating but don't get man of the match and only 12 skills % gained :mad:
