Mid season check in:
Team is living up to potential, with only 1 loss so far. Tactics are working and improving, and we are fair competitors in all 3 competitions.
Legacy players are doing well (Kenny, Arce, Tupy, Sturm all season 1 players) with Kenny especially returning to form. In addition to his league leadership, he has also taken MoM for each association match this season, all against higher Q rivals.
League is 13-1-0 with 8 points lead, and should be secure. CL has been smooth ride until sometime late in the bracket.
Latest leg of Cup was the most exciting, nail biting match since 1st season. I lost first leg QF 0-2 playing 4141@104 against ND @112, despite +15% possession and +1 level opponent not present. We didn't expect a win in the second leg, and knew that each round beyond the qualifier was against active, higher level teams and wins were never certain. But opponent's 1st goal was a FK that successfully got my wall defender, but was put in an MC on the rebound. A fluke. So we had a chance, however slim.
We strategized and analyzed, but in the last hour pulled the weakest form player, put in a Hail Mary formation and calmed the team. 107 vs 114. Give em hell and don't stop fighting. They scored first, we scored twice... the whole match was a blur. With 1 supporter and even possession, Los Charros de Pueblo fought in an empty stadium for their own pride (we don't take losing lightly, 9 losses in 5 seasons). DMC Riyahi, our 18 yo who overworked to hit 120q for the match, took an injury at minute 28, and swapped for the 4 star back up. By the time I the aggregate was 4:4, I already knew pushing for the win in regular time was our priority...
Winning formation. Hard attacking, mix, mix, off; high, normal, off, with man marking for the first time we've ever used used it. arrows changed slightly during .
