This might be a stupid question but let me off as i'm a newbie.

When is it best to renew a contract? With one year left or with two years left?

defo one yr left and when 2 yrs left save skill points on the players you want to keep as every yr there value goes down, this way it cost less to re-sign, so once you`v renewed contract add the skill points on and the value goes back up

It all depends what you want to do! I train my players so they gain points and get better so I apply the skills right away. I prefer to have good players and pay a bit more when I re-sign them instead of waiting 2 years to apply the skill points...

the skill points are the cones beside the players, and cosmin i save skill and add on start of new season

click on training and you`ll see cones with numbers, every 15 is 1 skill up so eg

you have player on 30 with 15 he`ll go to 31

I always renew contracts when the player is in his final year (unless a player with 2 years left, and its coming to end of season, and he is near to getting his next quality star), then I sign him before he costs more money.

I never save my skill points. I always assign them as soon as the player gets them. I see no point in waiting. Get the most out of your player, as soon as you can.

Mate I understand your point of view but basically you do not take advantage of the skills right away, instead you wait until the end of the season...Is it really worth waiting?

Do it right at the end of the season in his last year of contract to avoid paying the higher wages.

cosmin, this season i`m top of league 11 games 11 wins so not added yet and 19 pts clear of 8th so not added yet and with 5 players on two yrs will renew start of season and boom plus players on 3 yrs and will add at start booom, although i know i won`t know who i will get in league till new season starts, but in 7 seasons been promoted every season in top four last season was worse position 4th but i did have token buyers for team and i have not bought any tokens, so i guess i`m doing something right and before you ask yes i have won league and cup although champions league is my pain but in that been k,o in 1/4 final every season
