Striker Matt Goggin has been wearing the Captain armband in the past three matches, and has thriving on the responsibility, and scoring for the fun of it. He opened the scoring in this match, running in on a Glenn Seynaeve corner and beating the 'keeper and two defenders with a vicious shot into the net. Seynaeve has obviously been getting some free-kick practice in, as six minutes later, he increased the lead direct from the set-piece after a foul just outside the box. Goggin added another solo goal in a dramatic last five minutes before half-time, right-winger Emerson de Alencar Arraes limping off with a suspected hamstring injury, to be replaced after the break by left-winger Gary Cusack, playing out of position on the opposite side of the pitch. Central midfielder Ireneusz Jezierski bagged a debut goal, hustling a cross from right-back Rodrigo Gimenez into the net, before the visitors got onto the scoreboard with a solo goal by their left-winger. Ozdemir recorded a goal on his debut with the fifth and then assisted as Goggin made it two hat-tricks in three matches with the final goal two minutes before the final whistle, the Rats recording their biggest League win of the season, 6-1.
