Home Guard were set up to be used for experimentation, let's see what one super-Quality player does to a 3*/4* side...
The new recruit was intended to be used mainly at DMC, but facing a team playing 4-3N-2AMW-1 in the away 1st Leg Cup match, the Management chose the defensive hexagon (3N-2DMW-3N-2) and put Juan Pablo Medina in at DML. After a slow start, the Guard scored through Medina, and then soon after, striker Supachai Sunthornpit opened his account at the thrird attempt. Medina got onto the scoresheet again late in the first half, converting a corner from Scott Barlow. The Home side came back into the match in the second-half, but an injury to their main striker knocked the fight out of them and with four minutes to play, Medina slid in his third goal for a 4-0 win by Home Guard.
Was he worth it ? :D haha...

After the match, I talked to him, what an amazing performance it was to play 1.364min without conceeding a goal. He is just 21 y.o., so he has a lot of games in his carreer, to make a new clubrecord (on his own, it was a new record). He shall take a look to Costa, how often he made new clubrecords. And... he conceeded this goal vs our league rival of last season (they were 2.place)
At cup, our keeper was back, made his first clean sheet again, saved all. :o

Desert Rats FC played the 1st Leg of their 'Round of 32' Cup tie away at an evenly matched side, and goalkeeper Bismark Carroll obviously kept the Rats in the match as his MoM-winning 4 out of 5 saves clean-sheet proved. The strike force drew a blank, too, so honours-even 0-0 draw taking things level into the return Leg. Thanks to madflo and Niko for the support.
Before things went pear-shaped in their League, Home Guard FC recorded a 5-0 home win over their now-replaced opponents. From looking at the stats, Juan Pablo Medina scored his second hat-trick of the day, defender Micky Agbo and midfielder Dominic Frost got the others.
Is there any chance to see some of the old emblems in the club shop again.

The Desert Rats Management having been out all day, had to set up his team early and hope that everything went OK from then. Getting home with about 2 minutes left on the clock, there were two players with yellow morale, but nothing could be done about that. The other thing that was outstanding was a very reasonable negotiations bid for one of the players.

The match started whith a couple of supporters present (thanks madflo and Niko), and soon after the opposition had a supporter arrive. Desert Rats were playing 3N-1-3N-2AMW-1 against the home side's ND, and the Rats wingers had a field day. Kostadin Marinov scored twice, one assisted by Patrick Tillmanns and the other by striker Shaun Ruel, right-winger Tillmanns scored his second League hat-trick of the season, twice assisted by Marinov, and in the process became the first player under the new regime to go past 50 goals for the club.

Desert Rats FC had an away Champions League Group match, but before the Management had to go into a meeting he had to fight off some unwanted attention for his striker Shaun Ruel.

The Rats had to fend for themselves in the match itself, but they didn't give the Management any cause for concern. Patrick Tillmanns turned in another 'perfect' MoM performance with three goals, but blotted his copybook when he picked up a booking. Kostadin Marinov and Danny Collins scored the other goals in a 5-0 win. Thanks to madflo and Niko for keeping an eye on them.
Home Guard FC played away at one of the remaining human-managed teams in their League, and were put under the cosh in the first half, but a goalkeeping master class by Phil Obed kept the match goalless at half-time. Nick Gill netted a Supachai Sunthornpit free-kick to open the scoring early in the second-half, and Sunthornpit and makeshift AML Jakub Janda also scored in a 3-0 win for the visitors.

My CL poule is pure murder right now. 2 games played, 2 games dominated, 1 point......... I couldn't attend so I had to see the result of my second match. 60% possession, 20 shots, 12 on target, 3 goals. Of course the advisary makes 6 saves. The advisary only 13 shots with 7 on target. My 6 star goalie only makes one save and he scores 4. Sigh. RNG hate...... So the next few games have to be wins.
The Quality is just like the CUP, almost equal. We are 98% to 105%. It still feels like punishment to be placed among equal teams while others can win the CL with 56% Quality. Strange stuff.
Not a bad start in the league :) And also a good season start for my man Mendoza.

Exciting Second round of the Cup for both teams. Persebaya 2014 and Hakurei United both went through with only 1 goal advantage over brow fc and kegelapan una fc respectively
Meanwhile 2 reinforcements have joined Hakurei United after tough auction adventures -_-

Day 6 - Super report.
Desert Rats played a home League match, and right-winger Patrick Tillmanns achieved Legendary status with his 4-goal performance, making a total of 14 goals in 6 appearances this season. Shaun Ruel (2) and Kostadin Marinov scored the other goals in a 7-0 win. Later in the evening, they had unfinished business in the Cup. An evenly matched team had pushed the Rats to the limit in a 0-0 draw in the 1st Leg, but the home advantage proved crucial to the Rats continuing unbeaten run. After a tight first-half in which a goal from Shaun Ruel was the only highlight, Desert Rats turned on the gas after the break, midfielder Mukhtar Hassan, Kostadin Marinov and Patrick Tillmans scoring to make the final and aggregate score 4-0.

For Home Guard, the Management went shopping this morning, and picked up a couple of left-wingers. The main target was a two position attacking midfielder with the missing AMC position, but a two-position left-midfield player was up first and was bought as insurance in case the other bid failed.

Home Guard progressed to the next round of the Cup with a 5-0 aggregate score, Brian Barrett scoring the only goal of the 2nd Leg in a competent 1-0 win. The League match proved a different matter, Home Guard struggling against a much poorer team and being spared an embarrassing result by Nick Gill, netting off a pass by debutant Samuel Njewel.
My league is quite competitive. 5 teams with 9 points after 4 games, including me. I just disposed of one of the hardest opponents in my cup draw. My CL is competitive though I will comfortably take 2nd in my group and perhaps challenge for 1st. This season is going to be my best chance to run all comps. Wish me luck.

One single match means nothing. Many time my new boys shined in their first match and then showed actual faces in following matches. Therefore, at least 4-5 matches needed to evaluate a player.
