I would advise the 4-1-4-1 or the 4-1-2-1-2 narrow diamond as more effective formations vs this opponent. This is also assuming that this opponent keeps the 4-4-1-1 formation for the return leg....

i also had a draw 1-1 home against a team 2-3 quality less than me but i am confindent that my formation was the proper and that i ' ll do better away. i have played against him for the 1st preliminary cup round and we played both exactly the same formations. again first leg 1-1 home draw and away i won 4-1. hope for the repeat
