Season 93 - Are you ready?

League: Tied for 1st in the mini-competition. It's really odd that we benefit more from winning the mini-competition than winning the league. Anyways, its a great add so have to give Nordeus kudos for that.

Champions: Group stages, passage of the round of 16 looks secure.

Cup: I don't care!!!

Associations: Up 10-7 after the 1st leg of the final. I let the team down in my match as I managed like an idiot. I loan out Carvanho yesterday for assoc, and adjusted the set-piece takers to account for it, but forgot to change them back and didn't notice it until the 60' minute. I also changed tactic but for some reason forgot to change focused passing to "through the middle", leaving it as "mixed" despite running a 4-3n-1-2, and didn't notice until the 30' minute. I also changed to defense + counters midway through the 2nd half, when I thought I had a feel for what the opponent was doing, but to his credit he noticed what I was doing and adjusted his tactics to account for and scored a couple goals to put the match away. In the semi's we won 4-0 and 3-0; 27-6 overall.

Edit: Ended up winning 23-11 in assoc. My game was tough as nails, as we trailed 0-1 at intermission, but made a change at intermission, and rallied to win 3-2.

Learning a lot about the current game engine (until now) this season:

- DML/DMR positions does not seems to be much effective anymore .. Against strong AML/AMR I now prefer to field 5 defenders; against strong ML/MR I prefer to field MR/ML in the same position, or even AML/AMR to annoy them ..

- ML/MR effectiveness goes down like a rocket when the opponent has an AMR/AML on field.

- Defensive schemes: both 3N-DML-DMR-... and 4-1-4-1 suffer a lot when there are AML or AMR on field .. I now prefer to field 5-1DMC-3MC-1 against formation with less than 3 MC; this season I haven't meet any team with 3MC-AML-AMR-ST to get a referral point

- Never adopted this kind of schemas, but I'm happy when an opponent comes with 3 ST against me; a single DMC is usually enough to keep them calm ... From my experience schemas like 4-3N-3, 4-3W-3, 3N-4-3, 3W-4-3 are pretty ineffective in the current game engine (while in reality are widely used)
