[Official] Challenge - Young Prospects

Hey Everyone,

Are you ready for a challenge? :)

As we hinted, 5.7 will open up an additional and completely optional challenge that any manager could tackle. This challenge is made up of a time-limited competition. There are two competitions the first of which is the Young Prospects one. You'll find out what next one is later down the line. ;)

So what's all this about?

The challenge is active for the League competition, so it's a bout between members of the League group.
The challenge will last for 6 days.

Rules:
1) Your young players have to score goals.
2) Only players from 18 to 23 years of age are eligible.
3) The more goals these players score the more points your Club will earn which in turn will raise your spot in the ranking.
Note: Keep in mind that managers will not be qualified for any reward if they don't have any points, and therefore they won't get a Token reward.

And here is how the rankings/rewards go:
1st place - 10 Tokens
2nd place - 8 Tokens
3rd place - 6 Tokens
4th place - 4 Tokens
5th place - 4 Tokens
6th place - 4 Tokens
7th place - 2 Tokens
8th place - 2 Tokens
9th place - 2 Tokens
10th place - 2 Tokens
11th place - 1 Token
12th place - 1 Token
13th place - 1 Token
14th place - 1 Token

Note: In the case that multiple managers have the same score they will all share the same ranking spot, which means that they'll all get the same Token reward. :)

Look, I appreciate the effort, and the new challenges seem like an interesting way to engage managers, but surely fixing the selling mechanism within the game is a more urgent matter than developing new games? Or adding some of the features from the old system, like a hall of fame of players or a hall of flags or things like that?

Yeah,so now people will bid 80T for 18-20 yrs old players in auction like crazy, only to win this 10T? I say revamp the "recommended scout player" first, ability to pick their position and ability before I be interested with this.

its nice but ill think we have already a lot of matches and also with the new transfer sytem the servers getting overload

and the game is not steady enough this way we are getting more problems

because the servers cant handle it

Why not make the game just stable so we can enjoy the game and then new improvements

A lot of players are leaving and nordeus cant hold them with just new features

All of us want first a stable game this way Nordeus are taking the fun away with more problems


Playing this game now for 4 years and online about 3 hours a day

and my opinion is make the game stable and the game-engine behaviour must be the same in whole season

and no differents between the 1ste half and second half of the season

Would you mind sending me a personal message with some details about the issues you're having. The server load can't be the issues, as that is fine. It's either phone related, connection related or client related.

We hear you, it's been a parallel effort, we're also looking at the selling mechanics at the moment. We'll share updates as soon as we can.

It is a nice feature, hope will see more in-game competitions soon.

Every competition based on statistics will be a real challenge.

Its not fair, I just played my first league match and won 0:4, my 2 young star scores 2 each and their name not counted on leader board :(

why only u23? obiviously i know the answer just asking. ok waiting for what next. Just do it fair, theres manager who keep their best player till they retire surely those need reconition. Manager who spend their time and money to built a great team for you know what HISTORY. So that is not what you call commitment take a look and see. Read what they need not what you WANT. Really is not about those 10 Token you giving is nothing compare to what we already contribute in this game.Once again take a look and listen.

What was the point of this....?
Who was asking for mini games?

Is this some kind of way to try to jack up the prices even more for young players?

We can't have history, stats, or even sell our players to humans, but we can have mini games?

This is starting to make Sonic 06 look like Super Mario World.

In fact, this is starting to be just like Sonic in 2006 when Sega decided to redesign everything and reboot. What we got was a ridiculous obviously rushed and incomplete game full of bugs and blatantly cut content.
Gone were many of the things that made the series great, and replaced with some of the most stupid boring, broken, and unoriginal ideas in video games.
They couldn't make Sonic run fast, but did give us mini games! Lots of them! They were all boring and pointless, but hey, no one noticed, since no one played them LOL.
Just like Top Eleven, Sega wanted things to be more realistic, so obviously having an anthropomorphic hedgehog in a semi-romantic relationship with a human princess is realistic.
I'm afraid Nordeus's attempts at realism have been equally successful.

With that said, I think I'll go play some Sonic 06, I'll probably have better time than I'm having with Top Eleven right now.

To be honest, I don't think this challenge would really increase the young players price that much to actually make a huge difference to the game but yes in some cases in might as some managers would look to buy these kind of players exactly for this kind of challenge.

Now let's be honest, no matter what kind of new thing you come with, a bit you will influence the cost of something. Maybe more tokens, maybe more boosters, maybe more time, etc.

Hey ibangali,

@Pricop is right in your case. So the challenge starts on 31 May, but depending on your timezone, looks like 10pm on the 30th (today) is your kick-off. The match you reference was on the 29th. :)

One of my teams doesn't have the U23 challenge,as you can see there is nothing between the preparation level and previous competition match as it should be...am i missing something?not all the teams can participate or is something else?

The funny thing about that:

I'm in a league with at least 4 known high active managers (incl. the chinese guy) - and the all don't care about the event. No new young player there. They all keep the team. They have max. 1 U23 at offensive, and few Dx and Mx, like myself. In this case, it's gonna be funny, who wins this challenge. :o

All my players are U23 except my RB. Guess who scored the only goal, my RB. :(

Other live events:

1. Best line of defense. Least goals conceded
2. Fair play cup (though you have no influence almost on this). Lowest amount of cards
3. The away reward. Most goals scored in away matches.
4. The crowd pleaser. Most goals scored in home matches
5. Crazy league. Most goals scored by players out of position

1. Well designed. View with rules and leaderboard is great, bullets for matches played is great. U23 symbol for eligible players in squad is great. In overall kudos to designers.

2. No bug observed till now everything works like a charm. Thumbs up.

3. It added more challenge το league matches. Even if you secure the win, you will ask more from your attackers if you want to win. On the overall it is a great challenge, makes you rearrange some plans and tactics in game (eg use some old dogs in chl or cup in order to use U23 fresh conditioned in the league matches

That's great to hear :) - thanks a lot for all of these points Cloverfield!

It's easy to criticize when things don't go the way you would like them to go. That being said, I've to admit that this challenge deserves all the credit it can get, credit were credit is due. Thumbs up for the idea as well as for the implementation. Although, my challenge hasn't started yet due to my kick-off time, I can't wait to send 16 of my 18 youngsters into that new journey. This challenge was just made up for my team of youngsters, let's see if they can get the most out of it.

Once again, well done Nordeus, keep such things coming and may the force be with you!

It could have been a nice feature, but nothing more. We had more urgent issues to fix!

On a sidenote, starting this challenge on the second day of the league was retarded since most goals were just wasted. Making it time limited is ok but unfair to those teams that face stronger teams in those 6 days, compared to those that face teams that are low quality or tanking, and it's not really that equal.

Another wasted opportunity if you ask me. Just add prizes to top scorer rankings??

Agree with the facing of stronger teams but that is just part of the game. Sometimes you win, sometimes you loose. It is a free gift after all. Even it would have been a 2 week challenge where you will face every advisary of the league, you could complain about having home matches against the strong teams and weak advisaries in the away matches for instance. For every challenge some will have luck some will have none.

It is also something that is under development and right now I have to say it looks nice. I do think that more insight in the game is way more important than challenges. A lot of football manager players as statistics freaks. They want to understand the game and use their mathematic skills to beat the system. But right now there is no insight whatsoever. It is not possible to calculate anything. It is not possible to tell what the effect of SA are. It is not possible what the effect of training is, etc..... which is pretty ridiculous for a game like this.

But alas we are not getting answers to that apparantly. So back to the subject, challenges:
1. The no SA challenge: Goals scored by players without SA
2. The attacking challenge: Most goals scored using hard attacking only in team mentality
3. The defensive challenge: Least goals conceded using hard defensive only in team mentality

Almost lost a game because of the goddamn youngsters challenge :D The starting attacking trio were all U23s which meant I had to bench my 26 y.o. AML who has been a permanent starter for the past six seasons or so, and has the best goal to game ratio in the squad. Was down 1:2 with fifteen minutes to go, still hoping for an equaliser from one of the attackers present on the pitch. Then said to hell with it and threw the kitchen sink and good old reliable Håvard Gunneröd at the opposition. Cometh the hour, cometh the man - he duly scored after five minutes on the pitch :p

Looking pretty decent after two games :)

Yes, sir. Still quite frustrating that while the attacking trio are all U23s with an average collective quality of 119%, after two games they managed to bring me meager 2 points. I am pretty sure once the competition ends they will start scoring like crazy :D

Right, old is gold. One of my club doesn't have any U23 players and not gain any points. But my oldest star still playing as a real star on his last season (30 yo). Can't find any player any more like him. (Although club were tanking last 4 seasons, so he had less match compare with his age.)

btw, one point comes in my mind, Nord probably bring this competition to encourage tankers not to tank :p

I quite enjoyed the challenge. Managed to pick up three 18 year olds for under 10T (each) in the auctions and it's made me reconsider how to manage the club long term. If these players can grow quick enough to be pushing on 7* by the end of the season it means I won't need to buy more next season. Only finished 3rd in the challenge, but that was more a result of most of my goals coming from the only over-23 in the team. Typical.

For the record I'm Level 51 now, have won over half of my seasons and never put a penny of real money into the game...
