    ST/AML or ST/AMR players

    Hi

I have observed of you buy a legend or a star combination player ST/ AML or ST / AMR players they dont play well as ST.

They are super in AML or AMR but never play or always under perform in ST position.

Is it a trend or its designed that way.

    Any views ?

    Thanks

    Yes..ST position rarely performs decently.
    It's a known thing.
I use my main strikers as aml/amr to get better results and ratings.

A general trend I notice is that my strikers only perform and score lots of goals when I'm not watching. My AML and AMR however are always consistent with goals and assists

well thats i have experienced 24 seasons, i cant remember last time my striker scored 15+goals,but this season my striker is pretty good with 91*rating scoring 17 and with 7 assists in 31 games so i am happy XD but i ur out of position thing is correct,i used my AMC at MC position as i couldnt find decent mc in market for cheap price but he scored 16 goals and provided 9 assists thats fine i guess

Firstly, some of those AMx/ST players are actually AMx players (internally) with a 'cosmetic' ST position added to them. This sort of practice has become more evident in the game these days with the new auction transfer market. You will see players having 2-3 positions, but when you will check their attributes profile, in many cases, it is clear that the player is just a single position player with 1-2 'cosmetic' positions added to him.

Secondly, there have been a problem with the striker position in this game since a long time. Strikers did not seem to score or perform the way they are expected to do. With time, many users gave the AMx positions more importance, relying on them as if they were the STs of the team, that is those that will score most of the goals. The ST problem should have been fixed by the game company since way back, but only they know why it has not been fixed yet.

It also depends on your formation and arrows. I play a 4-5-1 V and with offensive arrows on my AML and AMR. They score a lot of goals. My striker however doesn't score much even though this season he is decent. Maybe its because he almost got 7 stars and is a lot better than the teams average...
My last season striker below the average team rating got like 4 league goals while the AML and AMR both got 17 or so. This year the AML has 11, AMR 9 and ST also 9.

Thankfully my AMR and AML are good. My dependency on ST is low in this season. Last season top performer was ST. But i have seen people bidding aggressively for ST doesn't make sense isn't it

In real life, teams will want good strikers because they are the ones responsible for scoring most of the teams goals. People are trying to play this game according to football sense and football in real life, that is, what a manager will do as a manager of a football team in real life, but there is not much football sense in some areas of this game. When they find out more truth about this game, that is will do things more in terms of how the game functions if they want to continue to play and to succeed.

my striker is at 20 goals and 12 assists in 38 caps this season.

wingers for sure are still more effective it seems, but as Der_Ryan_M mentioned above, alot of it depends on the focus passing. I usually go with "mixed" instead of "down the flanks" and run alot of 4-2n-3w-1 and 3-1-2n-3w-1, so my narrow players are more involved. My MC has 24 goals so far as well. 33 for AMR and 42 for AML (but he's the free kick specialist).

I also think strikers are in general, are more difficult to train than wingers are.

As Tactician said it was changed a year ago or something. Striker usually were the most important players. For the last 12 seasons or so all my strikers have been outscored by AML or AMR even when the striker is something of 7,5 star with FK SA. My AMR is right now 1,5 star less then my striker.

My striker: 32 goals and 7 assists in 40 matches
AMR: 28 goals and 11 assists in 38 matches
AML: 30 goals and 26 assists in 36 matches
AMC: 22 goals and 3 asissts but he will be taking the free kicks from now on.

In my first team the differences are bigger.
Striker: 16 goals and 9 assists (free kick and penalty taker) in 30 games
AMR: 31 goals and 2 assists in 34 games
AML: 15 goals and 17 assists in 34 games
    FC Knudde:
    Seasons: 46
    League won: 33
    CL won: 10
    Cup won: 4

    FC Killroy:
    Seasons: 32
    League won: 20
    CL won: 6
    Superleague: 3
    Cup won: 7
