No... I wouldn't say they are plus in some countries some feminine names are actually masculine names. In the UK Nicola is a girls name and in Italy it's a guys name.

just name your player with their position i think thats the best Striker 1 Striker 2 etc

Nikola Eiseit (Germany)
Emile van Grinsven (BEL)

Are they gay?

stop complaining about these names , maybe someone in this forum is named nikola or emile , so STOP

We can also rename players simply by pity for the TV/Radio commentator :p
No offense, but in some countries, some names seem to have been vomited once pronounced :p
