Benefits of friendlies?

I played a few friendlies today and the players' skills hardly rose at all, compared to training or real matches. I used low pressing, does high/low pressing alter the game and/or the extra skills achieved?

No friendlies are not the perfect representation of an official match. Mostly they are used for money or trying new tactics and players but personally I rarely play any friendlies.

the lack of rests made most of us don't play friendlies like old times ... they should increase the amount of rests every 3 hours from 6 to 10 to encourage play more friendlies and train
