If you have enough money to bid on him initially then it doesn't matter for how much he would get sold u can get him. As an example, if you have 1M and the player u bid on is worth 999K, you can bid on him and let's say he will be sold for 10M, you can definitely buy him but once u do that you will be in debt of 9MIL.
