Result just in: Balkan Boyz 4 - 0 Beauteville FC

I beat the league leader, 4 - 0 at home... Muaahahahaha ... Now its only a 3 points gap between us (64p vs 61p)..... I hope she loses 1 of the remaining 3 league games, otherwise we end up like 2nd...

Perfect Tactics win the league for a 6th time in a row!!

We win the league in front of the home fans with 3 games to go. It wasn't an easy match by any means but we did win it despite another failure from Jonathan Eastgate to avoid getting a yellow card. We were struggling to get many goals but Petersen's pass found Mata to roll the ball into an empty net early in the game. Petersen's long range strike made it 2-0 before Nascimento made it 3-0 before half time. We were struggling to score in the 2nd half, probably already realising we already won the match. Mata got a second on 53 minutes with a long range strike and then we just didn't bother with scoring anymore. The joy of winning the league was on the minds of the players and Eastgate got a little too carried away, giving away a free kick and getting booked. The free kick was saved but they scored from the corner, giving them a consolation goal.

Despite all the failures from Jonathan Eastgate, I wonder how many teams in L7 would like a player like Eastgate in their team next season, I already know that Troll City wouldn't mind.

Too many yellow cards, not enough goals... He might do better elsewhere, he just hasn't got a foothold in the team. A bit like Javier Pina but not as bad

I found that effect last season + this season due to the cup format changes, normally I'd be involved to the end of all 3 competitions but with the new cup format, It's not really possible anymore. I'm hoping for a better run in the cup next season, but as usual it will be tough due to the high averages and activity from other teams, we are about 1.5 points less than this time last season in terms of relative quality but that won't make the cup any easier.

I'm not sure how to approach the cup... Lowering averages is a massive waste of tokens and time... Although you can make a good profit when selling players at the start of next season.
