How do you work out only 1 midfielder ? I see maybe 4 but certainly 3. I reckon there is a DMC (could be an MC pushed back) and 3 AMs (L,C,R). Sure they might be AMs but they are still midfield players.

Ok , you dont count AMs or DMs as midfielders , not a problem. I only ever have 1 MC but sometimes I have an MR and ML as well , sometimes not then I use AMR and AML .So I guess when I dont use the MR and ML then I only have 1 midfielder in a formation I guess you would call 3-1-1-3-2 or with them its 3-1-3-1-2. It depends om the oppositions strength as to which I use but I have to say I have huge success with either formation when playing against a formation that looks anything like a 4-3-3. My AMs are all fast and they usually cause havoc in that open territory between the 4 defenders and the 3 midfielders. I am only fairly new , season 12 , but so far this is how I am seeing my teams perform. Maybe one of the veterans will tell me that at some point this will not be the case but until then I will keep using it. On a side note , I dont score a lot of goals when I have 3 normal midfielders but I dont concede many either.
