anyone who believes that nordeus did this simply to stop mutant players got it wrong nordeus did this simply to force us to buy players with our tokens.

I used to play and won many trophies in the old version - TE2014.
There, the players had max 20 points in three categories.
You were earning skill points (those cones) from training or games and added them in one of three categories (without being able to choose which skill - it was a queue).
I started of course with attack and then add to P&M and last defense.
But it didn't have this unrealistic difference.
You didn't have to buy any recommended or even a scout.
And the game was much better then

Well we can no longer accumulate skill points like the old version talkless assigning it to the most important skills.

However I get your point and I know that great managers will still end up winning lots of trophies. But I don't think the teams that will be created under this new system will ever be as dominant as the current ones especially when faced with unfair +1 or 2 levels competitions

if you keep 9-10 good players + some academy players, you avoid the +1 lv opponents or the heavy-tankers in the Cup.
