if you choose to not change your formation, then you will subject to many close games, as many people will change their formation to counter your 4-4-2. 4-1-2-1-2 narrow diamond almost always beats 4-4-2.

SOrry, I dont play 4-4-2 myself so I couldnt tell you how to play it better, but I am a huge fan of 4-5-1 V, and even that beats 4-4-2 more often than not.

My advice, look into other formations occasionally.
