Use the Vent thread

Hey Mods,

Do you use your own judgement or do you follow the instructions of any member who does not like a thread and close it when they say it is vent thread worthy?

Just curious. this is not a vent, BTW.

I understand that english is not the first language for many people and sometimes it is hard for them to understand what is being said, so they assume that the person is "venting". Give the benefit of the doubt.

The vent thread, although a mediocre idea, tends to put things on the backburner. Its like hiding away your retarded brother because he embarrasses the family. Some of these threads that have been closed are valid attempts to gain understanding.

I ask that you be a bit less harsh in the future.

No, thats the "complaining thread" :D

So now we have a separate thread for complaining? So we swear our heads off in the vent thread and cry/moan about things in the complaining thread? Sounds fairly simple.

BUT, with those 2 threads combined, there will be no more threads in the normal forum.

Move this to the complaining thread please...

Instead of closing these threads they should be merged into the vent thread.

BTW, who named the "new" admins??? Who are they as I never heard of them before? it seems all they know is to close the threads without even bothering reading the or making an intelligent comment! I understand the frustration regarding the stupid threads but some of them are really interesting and should not be closed! Hopefully these tactics will change soon for the better of the community

I agree. you got people coming in saying a thread should be moved to the vent thread and to close it. These are not MODS or ADMINS, so this is clearly people who want to be more than they are and they cant. Sucks to be them.

exactly. I think they use it as a "catch-all". What I dont like is normal members coming into a thread and puffing out their chests and saying to move the thread to the vent thread, like their opinion is one that matters and they have some power to do this.

Only the MODS/ADMINS control the board.

But they are the gatekeepers. They are guarding all the doors, they are holding all the keys. Which means that sooner or later, someone is going to have to fight them.

The Vent thread is still new and it was intended as a way to direct posts which only had the purpose of showing their frustration in a way that doesn't contribute to any discussion. Posts like "I have all these stats in my favor, but I still lost", instead of "Here are my team stats and formation, can someone see if anything was wrong with it?"

While I am not fond of the idea of a Vent thread myself, regular members were getting tired of all the rant threads. I don't believe negative feedback should be removed, and that's why I'm keeping a close eye on the thread, rather then locking new threads as they come or just leaving them there and have new members believe this is a posting habit we tacitly approve of.

If the Vent thread doesn't work out, it'll go, but we can't know until we try it. Thanks for the feedback, though. If you ever believe there has been a mod ruling that wasn't appropriate, you can contact me via PM and I'll look into it.

I am sorry, but there are both a Bug Report forum and a Suggestions forum. I don't recall us ever being against people posting bugs or problems.
