Why is the academy such a joke ?

I’ve upgraded my academy to lvl 10, hoping it would be a nice little boost of fresh youth players to the squad.... but this ? Seriously ? This is some utter trash, I though they would be at least... of some use but get this guys! I got an amazing 24% 2* goalkeeper for free and just for a measly 8 tokens, I could also snatch up a hot prospect of 3*.... MY TEAM’S AVERAGE IS 106% xD k didn’t even know that getting players like 4* below your current team was possible... the youth academy seems useless now :( one of the driving forces behind clubs nowadays, not here though :(

Increasing academy level only reduces days. No affect on quality of players received which yes is disappointing I agree.

yes its bul**** and so many managers complained about this in the last five years but the devs ignore all complains and give them a middle finger :D

Yeah man, i agree.
For example, i use a young players/these who ask to pay, just cancel/ for training a long time and wait offer from someone. That's it.

With the academy you have to be lucky I think. The most profit is a 80% player (14 tokens yes), a season just started, a position you need and green packs. With work, you will have a great player in a few days.

A MR (not a MR-AMR), a DL (not a DC-DL) ...

True and no special ability (although only a few of those are worthwhile imo). So 14t for an 80% 18yo is expensive if you are higher level cash rich. You can buy a 18yo player early days of season 70-79% multiposition maybe an sa if lucky for less than 5t and often only 1t. The academy player is likely to be an effective player and good trainer tho. Just need plenty of greens to feed them to add positions and increase skills.

yes, the 14 token player is guarantee fast trainer and you save some money too.
If you get him in the first 1-3 days of the season it's ok.
If it's after a week, you can find cheaper in the market (except LV1).

No, it's not. Players always come only three times weaker than current ones. For example, center mid speed 50, passing 60. My weakest midfielder is speed 120 and passes 140. The young is dismissed.

The token academy player is a guaranteed fast trainer and usually they perform well. If a manager doesn't mind training from below, it's usually a good investment.

Positionally, the youth players given are frustrating.
3 out of my last 4 have been goalkeepers when, each time, I have had 3 goalkeepers in my squad.

80% young players exists: My goalkepper. 27 years old now. 9 seasons. 450 games. Every season started with 100% and finished with 120%. A legend player who saved a lot of goals.
My Dr/Dc 24 years old. 290 games. Every season finished with 120%. Defend and attack, another team legend.
The point? Appeared when season started and have green packs to improve them.

Guys i had my first youth offer and i have got 18 years old fast trainey CM with 5 stars 80%. :) I was really lucky and for 14 tokens i spend on him like 100 green packs and he is now 103% very good. I´m going to make 120% to be for next season 100% and train him again :) I believe that in next 22 days draft from academy i will get **** but with this one I´m super happy :)

Keep him and get contract with another 14T if you can in the future! I had several badass players in my club history. Real legends. :)

(Only 14T worthy IMHO)

JUst get the free one and sell for some money

Better buy a new player for 1 token or so and train that one

I keep both of them. I use a bunch of scrub players to keep my team bonuses at 40% without losing condition on my starters, and the academy players are part of that. Then, on the last day of the season I sell them. For example, my academy players this season started at 32 quality ($2.01 M value) and 68 quality ($6.40 M value). They are now 42 quality ($2.47 M value) and 82 quality ($7.9 M value). That's over $11 M value for 10 tokens and no green packs since they just rest overnight. It would cost 45 tokens to buy $14.4 M so I'm way ahead. I only buy players during the first couple days of the season.

Yes the best way to use them is for keep the training 32- 40%....unfortunately. BUT ONLY the free player. The other for 8-10 tokens NOT worth it. Rather buy same quality for 1 token in the market.
Active members has 6* players and 5* players on the bench. We suppose to get a low 5* player for a 10 token cost. Or as mentioned more worth it to buy it in the market.
The free player is a joke. They should extend the upgrade method for the academy for another 2-3 levels. (to get a nice 5* player for free)

it makes me laugh people constantly talking about getting good players for 1 token, whenever I see 1 I want it's 20 tokens plus

NEVER BUYING 5* players. :) I buy only low 3* players coz i constantly farming greens and i'm using it when i buy "that" 1* cheap player. :)

yes, when people saying to buy with 1 token, it's about 70% or 80% q players, not 79%, not above 85% q.
