    5 Year Contracts

Just a little suggestion (maybe its already been said before?)

Have an option for how many years to offer your players when their contracts expire (rather than the automatic 3 years).

And have as many as 5 years as an option.

I have about 10 players out of contract this season and the rest of my squad runs out the year after. Once I've re-signed them i'm in the same situation 3 seasons later.
Contracts obviously get more expensive the better the player gets, so when you have a lot up for re-newel it completely drains your clubs bank balance.

    Good idea???

3 is plenty - IRL you'd offer a new contract to a player every couple of years if they improved, even if their current contract was for longer. In this game the players don't get unhappy with their contracts even if they improve a lot, so be grateful you can have a good player on low wages for a couple of seasons :-)

Its the signing on fees that empty's the bank balance. If there was a 5 year option you would offer it to 18/19 yr olds. If you "power train" them signing a new deal every 3 years gets too expensive (unless you're a token buyer).

Some people will agree with 5 years some are happy with how it is now, so at least have the option of how many years the player gets. (And maybe negotiate with the signing on fees).

Its not,in high levels if you not win all tournaments you will have big problem with money for new contract.Let's we have at least one thing for which are not needed tokens.....

6 - 21yr olds - 4 - 20 yr olds - 7 - 19yr olds and 3 - 18yr old and my oldest is 22yr old, this is squad and would defo sign them to longer contracts rather than having to renew every two season

I concur, lets have longer contracts, I know the wages of contracts are more expensive on higher levels but so are the competition income and league placing and it is a right pain in the ass to keep signing these players up so every 5 years would be good IMO

In a normal football simulation program, negotiation would be a normal occurance. Since they cant even fix the GK injury bug, what makes you think they can add the complexities of negotiation of contracts for your players?

They are a long way off from some of these simple things we take for granted in other games.

I don't know what the GK bug is??? Never came across it.

Surely its not that complex (i'm no computer genius) but all it needs is an up/down arrow either side of a year when renewing them, say maybe have it set at 3 years but then the user can click up or down to offer more years or less.

Like someone said players happiness isn't effected when renewing a contract, so its not so much "negotiating" but just adding a few years on or taking a few off so managers can spread the cost of signing on fees over a few more seasons rather than just 2.
