    Once you promote your players lose a start because the stars are calculated based on quality per level. A player this season who's 3 stars, next season would be 2 stars and if you promote, then if you will promote once again he will go 1 star and so on. In theory you can get players up to minus few stars, despite visually they will be stuck to 1 star.
