First of all, there's no 4-2-2-2-1 formation - that's 11 players, and you have to have a goalkeeper.

Otherwise - he's obviously attacking through the center and assuming you're actually using 3N-2W(DM)-2N(MC)-2W(AM)-1, his DMs are countering your AMs and his 2 AMCs and an ST beat your 3 DCs. The game quite often gives an advantage to weaker teams anyways - most of my losses last seasons were agains teams far weaker than mine.
