Why not just take into account team quality in Association games? Seems to me that players can still tank in League/Cup and manipulate their quality that way.

Also, why not address the questions regarding the changes to the national team with early player retirements and opponents quality?

We're confident in this, but I appreciate the suggestion. We are keeping an eye on how this will go. While I can't reveal specifics, more data points means better matchmaking.

yes, players that only care about asso games can tank with their 2 star players in all other competitions, and get easy asso match ups. that's how I ended up facing someone nearly 40% higher in this weekends asso final, completely spoils the game

Why would someone only care about associate games though? That seems backwards to me. Associations give so little rewards, you just get 5/5/5 red/blue/green if your FA wins the tournament. But you still get 4/4/4, 3/3/3, or even 2/2/2 if you come in last. It's not a big difference. Sure you get some tokens at the end of the season based on where the FA finishes, but if you're not even using your "real team" in league/cup/champions league then what do you need tokens for?

It seems pointless to only play this game for FA. FA is just there for some minor rewards to help your team play in real competitions throughout the season. lol

the phase is that they have 2 1/2 star accounts that put them down to lower the quality of the association and receive easy advs
And have several accounts of one or two stars that put them in the association to receive glid opponents to each other tournament 2 accounts

From this upcoming tournament, matchmaking will take into account your team’s quality over the course of a period. This means that how your quality looks in all competitions (League, CL/SL, Cup and FA) will affect your draw.

How quality is calculated in all competitions is not changing.

I’m a bit confused here. Is the average calculated by taking the best 14 players of the team, or by the players that play in the competitions mentioned? So if you have 11 strong players, but they don’t play during the week and you play with a very weak team (this is called tanking), does this affect the association draw?

I guess it's about the case when there is one (or more) very team in a group (usually a secondary account of another member) so to lower the avg quality of the group and after the draw, it's buying 5* players.
Then after the games, it's selling the 5* players and remains with the 1*-2* till the next draw.
After the update, I can imagine that the next draw will consider the quality of that fake team, when played the games of the week end.

I hope also the update to include the real avg quality of every member for making similar pairs and not only the current 11 squad during the draw.
