League opponents in Champs League draw

Just won my champs league match and advance to the next round so thought I would check out who I would get in the next round and I noticed a team from my league there is this right? is it allowed?

Yes... Other than friended clubs its more or less random lol...

Another thing, I'd wish all previous top 4 teams in the same league at the end of the season go into the same CL competition in the next season. Man Utd, Man City, Chelsea and Arsenal don't get put into different CL competitions do they?

Teams of the same nation can't meet until the knock out stages.

Yes I know that... but they don't get put into different CL competitions like a Top 4 of the same league in Top Eleven.

Yeah it'd probably work if they were put into different group stages? That would be good.

Thats what I suggested and I think it would make the CL more interesting that you know the 3 clubs already from the previous league and a chance for revenge or to state superiority for some of the teams involved.

It's nice to meet a team you already know, but if they implemented this then CL groups could only be drawn from 8 leagues. Maybe two from the same league could be drawn together

I'd like to see more than the 6 league winners that were drawn in my opening groups too, so maybe they could put 1&4 and 2&3 places together and draw from 16 leagues

Of course I'm low level so there are lots of leagues to draw teams from - July, I take it from your responses that you're not more likely to meet familiar teams further up the levels?
