Mixed fortunes for Desert Rats FC today, as they faced a +1 Level, +18%Q opponent in the Champions League Final, with obvious results, and got a favourable set of results in the League.



The Nordeus MC-hobbling machine struck again, with one MC booked in the 1st minute, and substituted at half-time after a couple of further lectures from the referee. Behind to a 44th minute opener by the opposition, Oliver Schenkel levelled in the 54th minute when the two wingers combined to open up a hole in the defence, which was taken advantage of. The Management was readying himself for some tactical and personnel changes for extra time when the other MC was booked, conceding the free-kick from which the winner was scored...





The League match today was a 2nd vs 3rd affair, and that man Schenkel was at it again, and the Management may have facilitated the action. After a long while playing down the wings and seeing all the crosses intercepted by the defenders, the Management decided to play through the middle of a 2DC-DMC central defence, and instructed the team accordingly. The first attack thereafter, the first forward pass of the match through the defence found Schenkel running with a defender gaining on him in his wake. He won the race and prodded the ball into the net for what was the match winning goal.

Afterwards the Rats found the result of the 6th vs 1st fixture was a 4-0 win for the home side, knocking the leaders off the top of the table and wiping out their Goal Difference advantage as well. The Rats now lead by two points and GD is identical, but the Rats have fewer goals scored. The only result that will guarantee the Championship will be a win away at 8th place...



EDIT: Just after posting this I got a notification that the 2nd place team (away at 4th place tomorrow) has just signed another goalkeeper...

A routine day for Nouvion FC, picking up another 3 points from a match against 10th place. Away at 14th place tomorrow, and there could be a few goals flying in - the race for the Golden Boot is now down to two players, but which one will it be?
