I have suggested this to the Devs many times. You get the usual “one more season” but after that he’s gone forever. It would be nice to add contract extensions for up to 36 years of age and 40yo for a GK. Even if it cost a few tokens to buy the extension. Such a shame it has not been taken up because it’s guaranteed tokens for Nordeus.

Yes, you are right, that would be the best approach, both for the us and Nordeus.
It is true not many users keep the players for sentimental value or their hidden quality - I mean by that players that despite their lower skills and star quality, perform exceptionally. Many of the managers just go for a new, higher avg player, so tokens are spend regardless.
But there are quite a few of these retirement rules requests already and I don't see it as something that hard to implement.

Nordeus devs don't care about creating an immersive experience for managers. They want players to have to go to the auction market constantly. It's part of why Negotiations were mostly eliminated as well. It's all very on-brand.
