why would they lose a star ?

If you place in the top 7, they lose a star because your team is promoted and are seen to be playing at a higher level, if you finish 8-14, the players stars remain the same because your level would be the same.

At least you know for future seasons, you will be able to improve your team by buying new players from the transfer market, they will be 3/4/5* star players available at the new level.

You just loose a star. This is nothing. You did not loose anything from your players abilities Your best striker (for example) was at 35 offensive abilities and 35 mental abilities?? He is going to loose a star but all the abilities remains. No big deal!!

They may still have the same quality number, they lose a star on promotion becuase the players are inferior to the higher level.
