I have played against Ajax with a 4-1-3-1-1 and i lost by 1-0. But Ajax is 11.5% better than me, so i don't know if my strategy is the problem.

Now i'm thinking if i should play a 4-5-1 V, or a 4-2-3-1 and counter attack. I'm also considering playing with only three centerbacks, so 3-5-2 or 3-6-1.

Does anyone have a suggestion?

It's a flank based formation. So it's all about closing them down. I'm considering 2-5-2-1. I've had success with it previously against superior teams who focus on the flanks. You could move up the AMC to ST position as well.

I find the formations very flexible. You could move up the defensive wingers to midfield or even AM positions or even as high up as ST positions so they act as second strikers.
