What were your biggest mistakes concerning your squad?

I don't know why, since 2 days I can't stop thinking about my French young striker star Raphael Monnier :( I sold him because I wanted to build a full 3 star team (I am lvl 2, and during I am writing I have a lvl 19 team ready for lvl 20 very soon), 19yo, SA one on one, top scorer, and for what? For 1,3M! But who cares about 1,3M?! I did a veeeeeeery big mistake! Ok great I do have the best team compared to all other teams facing me in the 2 cups and league but if had damn waited 2 or 3 more days, I would still have him now :(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(

What were the decisions you have undertaken, and who let you full of regrets?

I'm level 2 right now, so still making mistakes perhaps. I've sold a couple of players and was sorry later, as the ones I kept from my original given squad are now all 5 star just from good training. Some of the players I bought in have been stinkers, and finding them hard to sellon, will probably end up just sacking to make room on the bench. You learn as you go. I'm sure almost all real world managers regret offing and buying certain players over the years :)

5 stars? How you did? Personal training? It looks quite (too) fast in improvement (it means an average from lvl 25 to 29 in all fields), I barely reached 3 stars with my youngsters (general lvl 19 and 17) since 02/05/13, but I preferred to focus them onto the field they are playing, so lvl 23 for my ML in attacking, and 24 for my DC in defense. I bought a young 18yo MC today for 1,5M and he is already at a general lvl 20. I do have also a now 4 stars young GK since my debut who is 21yo now, with a lvl 22 (~28 in defense). These 4 youngsters, I will definitely keep them as long as I can.

I didn't do any mistakes yet, so I can't contribute to this thread yet. Well, okay, maybe it was a little mistake to sell one DC with 4 Stars and Age 22 or 24, but I have better DCs and I got too much DCs, so ... it was no mistake. Atleast I got around 260k for that player. :D

I have been playing for awhile but at the start was not so focused as I am now since coming on the Forum and hearing everyone's tips and stories and I would say biggest mistake was not coming on sooner so that I could understand the game as I do now.

What a good thing that I joined the forum three or four days after I started playing :-P.

i`v not made any mistakes yet i have a 21 man squad with 8 players 6* the rest are 5* but at least 7 of those i can improve to 6* and won`t need to sell just yet as my oldest is 21 and ave team age is 19.5 so will prob be a few season before i sell :)

not bad for a non token buyer i guess and i`m now level 8 and should get promotion this season

Don't know about my squad. But the biggest mistake I've made, is starting the game in the first place. I enjoy it so much, that I have to plan my day around the kick-off times for the matches. I don't seem to have a life outside now. ;)

I made an illegal formation and didn't understand why I had only 20% of possession against a weaker team and lost 0-1.
Now, I know why :)

Ive seen your team, thats alot of surverys lol

My biggest mistake was when I try to train my player a new role... and damn!!! just wasting my skill point.. but thankfully already sold him..

Yeah that's useless to spend 50 skill points for that, Nordeus should really think about it and reducing it to "at least" half of what is required, same for the SA training, they are way too expensive in xp points, and I am not really sure if it's very effective. I know they are trying to get money wherever they can, and I am totally ok with this, but still, IMO there's way more interesting stuff to investigate for that.

They do my nut right in, keep crashing on me then i dont get the token or to watch them again!

Sold one player when I should have sold another first has been my only regret. Not that it made a huge difference because I eventually sold the other player anyway.

I think my "biggest" mistake was that I didn't build/upgrade any of my facilities due season/lvl 1. I was just saving all of the money in a pile and ended up spending it the next season. Then later on, I realized that in order to get more benefits (packs, income from tickets and pocket money from souvenirs) I would need to upgrade them. :rolleyes:

I can see a problem with my squad developing. I started at level 1 not being a token buyer, then started buying tokens at level 2. I didn't put that much in, but got a heap of free tokens to compliment my spend. I spent a few tokens on cash, bought players on the transfer market and a couple of scouts. In the process, I have accumulated a squad with a high star value and because they are quite a young squad and this game puts a higher $ value on younger players, I have a pretty high value squad now at level 3.

The problem is, I believe I have sacked/ not renewed too many experienced players in the 25-28 age bracket. The game engine doesn't seem to like this as I am not getting good results v. teams with a higher average age. I'm happy enough to wait it out for this season, coming 2-3 in the league and progressing in the Champs league. In the cup, I'm stuffed, as I'm up against teams in higher levels with like star points, but higher average age. The challenge will be whether I sell some of the potential stars before the end of the season, or sit on them and watch them drop considerable value for next season.

I've found that it works out pretty evenly either way. Sell at the end of the season there's less people shopping and people tend to be stricter with their money.

At the start of the season your values will have plummeted but the first 2-3 days are generally VERY buys in the market and I usually get prizes closer to their old value, and often better.
