Poor scout player

I'm at level 4 and at the beginning of this season, I bought a scout player AML/ML/DML (44 quality, PK specialist) who was the most expensive on the list. Since then, he's played 9 games and has never achieved higher than a 7 rating (6.1 average). He's also missed the two penalties he has taken...

I don't understand how he can perform so poorly. Any suggestions on what I should do with him? Selling is not an option seeing as he put me back 50T plus the huge fee (4.54M $) I paid to get him.

buying scout players doesnt guarantee form. he is a higher quality player but may be low in form at the mo. check his morale and give him time

7 tbh is not that bad. Though the fact that he missed 2 penalties with a PK specialist is kind of weird.

In his 13th game (after dropping his average to 5.9 with another three subpar perfomances), Cosimo Linetti finally redeems himself with a MoM (9, 1 G, 2 A) performance and game 14 was another awesome MoM (9, 5 G) outing.

He had to suffer the ignominy of being a healthy scratch for the deciding match of the CL group stage, ultimately meaning that I've been kicked out of all cup competitions before the halfway point of the season...

You could try&put him into the three roles AML/ML/DML and see in which position he performs as best.. Just because he is a AML/ML/DML doesn't mean he will be or perform at his top at all three positions.
