    Teams order wrong on champions league group stage

    So. There is 2 teams. Both of them has same amount of points 15. Team 1 who is leading has +21 goal difference (23-4) Team 2 who is second has +25 (28-3). First Match between them was 1-0 to Team 1. Second was 3-2 to Team 2. So, why Team 2 is not leading? Can someone explain that? Or is it a Bug?

    No, this is not a bug, itโ€™s not necessarily goal difference that decides who wins the group, in this case, it was head to head which determined who topped the group.

    As you stated, Team one won 1-0 and then lost 3-2 to team two.

    This would give an aggregate score of 3-3, team one goes ahead of team two because they scored more away goals during the two games than team one.

    But this is group stage, not knockout stage. I would understand this on knockout stage but not on group stage. Well it has to be that then.

    Yep. Checked, you are right ๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

    Tiebreakers Edit
    Teams are ranked according to points (3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, 0 points for a loss), and if tied on points, the following tiebreaking criteria are applied, in the order given, to determine the rankings (Regulations Articles 17.01):[2]

    Points in head-to-head matches among tied teams;
    Goal difference in head-to-head matches among tied teams;
    Goals scored in head-to-head matches among tied teams;
    Away goals scored in head-to-head matches among tied teams;
    If more than two teams are tied, and after applying all head-to-head criteria above, a subset of teams are still tied, all head-to-head criteria above are reapplied exclusively to this subset of teams;
    Goal difference in all group matches;
    Goals scored in all group matches;
    Away goals scored in all group matches;
    Wins in all group matches;
    Away wins in all group matches;
    Disciplinary points (red card = 3 points, yellow card = 1 point, expulsion for two yellow cards in one match = 3 points);
    UEFA club coefficient.

    Yeah, but the same applies between the two teams in question in the group stage as well.

    This is Nordeusโ€™ Champions League/Super League group stage tie-breaking criteria below:

    The tie-break rules are as follows:

    1. Highest number of points.
    2. The best goal difference from the group matches played between teams level on points.
    3. The highest number of goals scored between teams that are level.
    4. The highest number of goals scored away from home between the teams that are level.
    5. If two teams are still level after applying steps 1-4, repeat the steps and apply the above criteria exclusively to the two teams concerned. If the two teams still remain level, criteria 6 and 7 should be applied.
    6. The best goal difference from all group matches played.
    7. Highest number of goals scored from all group matches played.

    In this case, it seems that rule no. 4 applied to the break the tie in your group as it seems team one scored more away goals during the two matches in question.
