I've seen this happen before, theres a minor bug that sometimes doesn't allow anyone to bid in KO R1.

Well the followup question is: did Gabriel win?
Maybe no one want to bid on the 1KO round.. Just looking on the bright side hehe

It's a 49q player - it's quite possible that he's been put on the (level 6) negotiations list and could've been sold via negotiations before the auction deadline ended.
Interesting bug, this should happen to me sometimes.
Edit: Wow, it happened to me. Got an awesome player.
