Would you play this formation vs this Tommy?

I'm thinking of using this formation to slay this goliath and put me in the CL final.

    Thoughts?

not sure, is wise to add red on ur wingers when he has 2 good wingers
i would had played 4 at back as a starter
those formations works well countering 442
    - 4-5-1 V-Style
    - 4-1-4-1
    - 3-2-2-2-1 Butterfly
but 442 is not easy formation .. so advantage your are getting will be not that big anyway to guaranty a good results , especially with this crazy engine

    Agree with @shwanko07.

I would use the 4-1-4-1 and hope for the best. The formation you posted/prefer is suicidal.

The 4-4-2 or 4-4-1-1 isn't that bad either.

So how is it neither of you is championing the N.Diamond?

I have a strong 4-5-1V and a strong Butterfly, wondering which to choose.....

Thanks for the advice. Looking to score at least one goal as the first game is away.

Because the N.Diamond doesn't do too well against the 4-4-2

Hmmm, because if I go head to head 4-4-2 with him, he should win 1-0 or more, in most instances.
    If I go 4-1-4-1, I have a better chance at a 0-0 draw or a 1-0 result, either way.
If I go butterfly, I have a better chance at a positive result as it is 3-6-1, OR,
If I go 4-5-1V, almost the same as the 4-1-4-1 but more offensive, I stand a better chance at scoring, but leave myself more open.

    Tough call.

    What about this formation?

The pisser is that my BEST player is RED CARDED for this match and would make a huge diff as a WorldClass MC with corner. At least he will be in the return leg. I hope to be at least level going into that game at home.

4-1-4-1 works well vs 4-4-2 so much that you would go with it 10 out of 10 times vs this Tommy?

What orders would you give 4-1-4-1?

At almost the last minute he changed to 4-3W-3.

Of course, 4-4-2 and supposedly 4-1-4-1 work, as well as my favorite 4-5-1V which i have won with vs this formation already, so this gives me more confidence.

Post game comments and results soon....

    DAMMIT!!! 1-0 loss.

45% possession for me, 8 corners and 3 shots on goal, 2 freekicks and nothing.

He changed his formation during the game as he saw my 4-5-1V and went 3-4-1-2, so I went 3-1-4-2, and then he went to 4-3-1-2 and eventually to 4-4-2.

1-0 is not a BAD result, but I would have liked to score an away goal.

Dont try this, thats my main formation and it doesnt do good against 4-4-2
