Debating a cup boycott...

So, I'm newly promoted to level 3, and I've looked at my cup draws, and realised 80% of the cup teams are level 6 and above.
Now, I can understand the way Nordeus have tried to balance it by taking into account average quality, but when I'm drawn against teams with 2 8/9* strikers, it just seems really unbalanced.

I don't know weather to just boycot it now with illegal formations or try and do a bit of giant killing, but I can't see myself winning as the underdog 10+ times, I may as well just save my players energy.

I understand my average team quality is almost scout level, and it seems unfair on people who haven't bought tokens (I've mostly taken advantage of free offers, spending little), but when Nordeus do this, I can't see a point in buying tokens for scouts etc, when if anything it just means your drawn against teams way above your level.

I would rather be drawn against other 'scouters' my level, then at least every team has the same quality of players available.

My next game is against a level 6, his up front players will wipe the floor with my defence, but my midfield and attacking players are better than his defence, so I think it'll just be a case of who can score the most goals.

You seem to have nothing to lose, and everything to gain. Put out a decent team, use normal tackling (to hopefully lessen the risk of injury), and treat it like a training session. If you win, great. If you lose, well then you are prepared for it, so no problem.

True, true.

I mean I don't have the mentality that ill only play the game if ill win, I welcome a challenge, especially in the league when the last two seasons have been a two horse race, and the CL is interesting when you have to make comebacks over two legs, but like I said, it might help by reducing the amount of games I have to play this season because of a competition I don't see myself with a chance of winning.

My average quality is around the mid 30's, halfway between 5 star and scout level, and the teams in drawn against are generally the same, but when you actually look at their squads, they're mostly 7/8 star with a few 4/5 stars mixed in, with a load of 2/3 star reserves they aren't going to play, just seems really unbalanced.

I think Nordeus need a way of looking at the squad as individuals for more fair match ups, rather than average quality as a whole.

i had this last season and knocked out higher level team`s, shock horror ( NOT ) i have higher teams again, guess i`l have to peeve these teams off buy beating them so they can post in rant thread

I also dont understand why Nordeus penalize players with great ambition...why can't they group all Lv 1 in the server and make a cup for them, and then do the same as Lv 2 and 3 and so on...

I just got on to Lv 2 and I am drawn with a giant.....well I beat him 4-1 in the first leg, didn't know how I did that but I could always use the extra money.

Money and playing time for your back ups (if you have 22 man roster) is worthy of playing it.

Ah, I've got a fairly shallow squad atm.

Ah well, we'll see how I fare against this bloke tonight first, I guess me having a fairly even squad as opposed to him having a weak squad with a few extremely good players may give me an advantage

I've been thrown in a Preliminary round with a level 4, While I am level 2, I remarkably won the game 2-0 But I'm concerned about the second leg, I've got 2 star AMC because I didn't have the money to buy a new one! Come on make the prizes higher.
