He wont go anywhere. If you assign skill points to him, he'll be taken off the market.

How about if I click to sell him or another player with 4*, will it appear in the negotiation list or the auction list instead?

If you sell a player, he will appear on your servers auction list.

question: if you have a negotiation offer accepted, do you have to confirm the deal, or does it go through straight away?

ive made offers, but if i can find a player at auction there and then i wont need negotiated offer

as soon as the other person accepts your offer, it goes through immediately
