The point is that as they are fast trainers, you can keep them for longer as they will gain more skill points over the course of the season in comparison to older players.

Agreed...you can buy a young (18) 4* player on the market for one token & about £1- 2 M...i do and if you power train them then WOW! ...

Yes, but not all 18 year olds are fast trainers on the market, some are managers 3 levels higher selling their 2* ducks so you need to watch that.
