Home advantage is huge in this game. Also, you say you changed nothing ... maybe that was it? He may have changed all his orders, the stuff you cannot see. Maybe he was on easy tackling and playing the flanks in the first game - but in the second played mixed and hard tackling? *shrugs* - you can never assume you're automatically going to win. What did you expect? it should be exactly the same score second game? same players scoring? exact same everything? I know it's annoying as it happened me last season in the cup.
I won the first game 6-3 at home, thought I'd cruise through second game too, but it was away, and I had team set up but didn't watch [giving away bonus possession] - I suffered 2 injuries and the auto-sub feature never kicked in and I lost 4-1 - how very convenient. Precisely what he needed to go through on away goals, as it ended 7-7 on aggregate. I was annoyed, but I learned more about the game from that loss than any win.
I disagree - home advantage is crap, especially in the Cup. In 2 seasons I've got 5 draws and a loss in that tournament - all of them at home. If it wasn't the away goals rule I wouldn't care about it at all.
I did not mention the possession but it was 51-49 to the home team in both games.
I was going to write a rebuttal, but ... I find this fact to be very revealing, simply because those numbers are not possible if everything was EXACTLY the same.
