Special abilities and training speed

Hey i'm a level 2 manager, I was wondering are special abilities worth the 50 skill points or is it better to spend them on skills?

And i once read that Defensive wall is better for DL DR and Aerial defender is better for DC is that correct? =)

And what determines the training progress speed of a player? the number of stars + age ( less stars and age is better ) i would guess am I correct? And is the market value a kind of a reflection of how fast the player trains? like an age 18, 15 quality player that worths 1.5M should be a fast trainer.

I know so many questions =P hopefully i'll be able to help u too somehow.

Only young fast trainers for 18-21 are worth adding the special ability, other than that just focus on giving the skill points for more quality, you don't want to waste your time adding a SA and then finding your player is lacking quality because you win promotion every season, remember you need 75 points every season just to maintain a players relative quality.

I suggest you read through my guide to power training and that should answer quite a lot of your questions.

don't bother with special abilities. 50 skill points is worth 3.3 in player quality. Would you rather your player have 30 shooting ability or be a fk specialist with 20 shooting ability? Use the player with best finishing ability to take pens, best shooting ability for fks, best crosser for corners. I score over 20 goals a season from fks and corners. I've had specialists but I wouldn't go out of my way to get one. As for which young players train fast, rule of thumb for super fast trainers(age 18) is 2 million+ for 20 player quality and add 1.5 million for every 5 pts in player quality - viz. 3.5m for 25, 5m for 30.....

I dont agree with it, special abilities are worth it for good trainers.
Rule for super fast trainers is nonsense.
In my opinion you need to search for 18y old players with this market value:
- 24 quality: 3,45 million
- 29 quality: 4,34 million
- 34 quality: 6,1 million
- 39 quality: 8,5 million
- 44 quality: 11,5 million
These will be the fastest trainers you can find on the market.

That's correct, higher transfer valued player is better in training.

Great post. Is there a graph or a table to show these values further than 44? e.g. 49 quality: 14,5 million (or whatever it is). Thanks
