2-5-3 is a valid formation, does anyone have a counter for this?
I have been playing with 4 - 5 - 1 V formation quite OK but my ST doesn't do much although he has the most stars in my team. Wingers (AML/AMR) and MCs score more goals. I play with the normal tactics, attack with mixed passes. Is there something wronh with my strategy.
Well, at least he is giving many passes to goals although he doesn't score so often as I expected.
I really need your help!

I'd go with 3n-1-3w-1-2
4-5-1V does not work for me even more.
I have quite good players in wings (AMR AML MR & ML) and in AMC. Does somebody have any idea of which formation can work well?

i have good luck beating 4-4-2 with 3-5-2 (3-1-4-2 // 3-4-1-2 // 3-1-3(w)-1-2 // 3-5-2)
I usually take the 3-1-4-2. with defensive/normal + counter attack
This table used to be useful, now it is not anymore. Game is now too random and formation and tactic not that important anymore (unfortunately)
But will my 3 defenders manage to handle his strikers? I am not sure about the 3-1-4-2 and playing with 3 dc's
Promit, there is just one way to find out will your defenders do it. How about 4 midfielders qualities, are you on the same level? If yes, just go.

Well, 3-1-4-2 is at least more active formation. And you'll have home advantage. Did you follow the macth and change players when they were getting tired? Did you select blue arrows for attacking players? Losing 1-0 is not so bad when playing away against a stronger opponent. There is no right answer here, of course.
4-5-1 v defensive, own half, through the flanks, mixed passing, normal tackling, zonal marking. Counter on offside off.Quote:

His also a level higher than me... Ive used many counter formations that did not work, it just depends on how your players adapt to the formation/tactics being used.
Please explain how is it possible to lose to an opponent 8 quality stars lower if Ive got a "quality defence, better players and home advantage"?? As I said, it depends on how your players adapt to the formation/tactics being used and what your opponents tactics are, regardless of how better you are or what advantages you have...Quote:

That are illegal formations. You can play them, but the opponent will get a possesion bonus. A legal formation must contain at least 3 defenders, one striker, one player on each wings, but at most two on one side, ...Quote:

But in my experience you won't have any luck with a new formation immediately. You have to let your team play a few matches until they get good and better. I always lost my first matches after i drastically changed formations.
No matter which.
From 4-3-3 to 4-4-2 or 3-4-3 to 5-3-2 I always lost hard the first matches
Plus, I never place wrong positions. Always use correct ones (mc on mc/ mr on mr etc) . Bear that in mind.

1. Basically i understand arrows assignation in this game BUT HOW TO IMPLEMENT THEM AGAINST UNUSUAL FORMATIONS I'M FACING DIFFICULTIES. and I DON'T KNOW how to settle my squad against weird formations.
