Hi guys,
I can't understand the functions of blue/red arrows. Please anybody help me. If I'll use blue for midfielders then the players to go more in attack or in defense ? I can't understand because when i use blue arrows for defenders, they scored better than striker.
Playing arrows basicaly means how you want you player to play - red arows means he will focus on going forward, blue he will go back. How much effect they really have no one can be totaly sure.
Yep, the way I think of them is:
Mentality is a way of giving your whole team instructions to attack or defend or do what comes naturally.
Arrows takes this to an individual player level. Red arrow motivates the player to get forward quicker/more eagerly when the team attacks. Blue arrows makes the player do similar except defensively....to get back quicker when defending. These extra motivations cause players to lose a bit more condition than if they wre left to their own devices.
A red arrowed player will still defend when the team defends as he normally would but might be further forward when opposition breaks so not as well positioned. Similarly a blue arrowed player will still attack.
Some people think its helpful to think of an arrowed player as being more advanced or withdrawn as if you have moved their position forward - I don't really subscribe to that but it might be true: I think its more he'll try to get more advanced or withdrawn quicker than he otherwise would have.
So, u set Team mentality in Orders and tweak individual players with arrows. IMO. And I'm still new so what do I know. ;)
Only Devs can answer that one, but i am not sure If even them know the answer!:confused:
Maybe you are new,but arrows do exactly that. Red player still defends but when defending he is 1 square up blue when attacking he stays in his position (he stays in the back)Quote:

I think it moves the player to the adjacent position the arrow points to, in the backline's case, wouldn't a blue arrow mean he is on the other side of the field? Same for ST with a red arrow, they try to defend.
The more playing around with arrows I do the less I want to use them without great thought and reason. I have no evidence (who does) but I find arrows can break a teams prospects as much as it can boost them. I use them as an extra tweak. And I find I'm using them to do things not covered by other aspects of a set up eg leave attacking down the flanks wingers without arrows and instead arrowing a central midfield to support them. ;)
Remember players are hardly ever in the positions you assign them at the start. ;)
Arrows make player go 1 square forward or backward... I really don't see the point putting reds on strikers... What will they do hug the opponent's goalkeeper? Same for defence why put blue he will hug my goalkeeper. The only usefulness in arrows I see is blue on DMC in narrow diamond. While attacking he will be a DC and it is good to have another DC...

Whatever way it works its important to remember players are not static - I could put arrows and ball& chain on my main DC but he'll still get on the end of a long ball forward or take a run thru everyone and 'round' the keeper. ;)

That's why I don't think of arrows as 'position changes'. I think of them as desire or eagerness to get forward (or back). An MR with a red arrow is still an MR in my mind, but its an MR that will get forward to an advanced position quicker or more readily (and use more condition doing it) than if it had no arrow. I also think that a MR with a blue arrow will still attack but when the ball is lost he'll get back quicker than if no arrow (but again will lose more condition doing so).Quote:

Im curious about the advanced position u mentioned, the advanced position of mr would be amr, and with blue he would go one position behind, would be dmr, so it is kinda position thing, just depends whether u have the ball o u defend.i think as u said u can take care of these things just by the mentality, and defender and dmc and normal midfielder i think still defend normal even if u use attack mentality, its not like they then only in the opponents half, i think attacking mentality just means they all go one step forward if u have the ball, so no arrows needed even with for example attacking mentality defender after lose the ball still defend back haha. I think half of top eleven user dont ever use any arrows n still win games n stuff, n i agree to the former post, blue on for example dc o wing back o red on Stricker is nonsense as there is no more forward or backward in their position playQuote:

Yes of course i agree u always start in your position and then then for example the mr while attacking goes as amr and while defending he can go back into a dmr, but still normal position is mr i know, that what i try to say is it depends u attack o defend where ur player will be but i say if i play with dmc o amr i dont need red arrows on mr o dc cause i have players already in this positionQuote:

Yes, and if you play against a team with an AML and you have an MR you can put a blue arrow on the MR to try to get him to track back but he might not make it and won't do the same job as a DMR being there to specifically mark him....... but he will do a better job than an MR without an arrow.Quote:

Arrows in some sense are too in the players by default, in hidden skills, we can see some MC's in more % of times in defense than others.
I play with full of arrows, don't save arrows, arrows are free, don't have to waste a token per arrow. :)
Players defend, and attack, by default in some %, full of arrows increases chances, = more options. Blue arrow in the 2 DC's = more pending to be in defensive tasks, DR/DL with a red = he will sometimes go for an assistance.
