No worries on asking any questions as most of us asked similar ones when we first joined the game.
1) It all depends on what * team you would like to build and maintain.
If you are looking to build a 6-7* team, then you should aim for the highest-% 18yo FT early in the season to power-train them to close to 6*, and should build a formidable close to 7* team over several seasons. This is probably needed if you wish to stay competitive in a platinum association for the 100T reward each season. The very top FTs easily cost 35T+ or more, depending on number of bidders.
If you are content with just winning trophies with draw manipulation, then 4-5* FT would suffice, as those are typically a lot cheaper in T. They could be picked up with a few Ts. With some proper training, such a 5* team could still do very well in gold 1. (Impossible for a 5* platinum association not to drawn with much tougher opponents over the long run)
2) Wage does not matter anymore, as it is just a direct reflection of quality irrespective of the player’s age.
3) It is indeed a lot more difficult to tell if a player is fast or slow trainer for higher level managers with the market value. The best combination would probably be by both sorting the value (hopefully the FT is listed as most expensive) and also the highest wage that we could differentiate from viewing other auction players previously.
Higher level manager would be better placed to answer this question.
