IMO you need to be considering a six man MF but not flat, 3-2-1/2-2-2-1, 3-2-1 would tend to cancel each other out.
Flat four/five MF's tend to be won and lost on the flanks, he's using what is the V MF which we know is strong so hard to penetrate through the centre.
His use of DR/DL is supplying his MR/ML, cut the supply and block his MR/ML.
You need three DC's the rest is down to your squad strentgh and positions available.
