New Tactic to getting a winning team year-on-year

Hiya all,

I've been doing well over the past 2-3 seasons, since I was able to go from challenging for first, to winning easily last year (and getting the trable) and on course for at least 1 trophy this year.

After thinking about all of this, and talking to a lot of people on here I thought I would share my strategy for next season. You can let me know what you think.


Personally, I'm only buying 2-3 players a season now - though I do pick up the odd gem 18-19 year old if I think I will need that position over the next year or two.

While I was training my new striker up, at a cost of about 4-5 packs per % a couple points a day. I wondered about the use of the expert trainer guy, doubling my exp return. So then I thought, if I have tokens I'm not using maybe I can use this to my advantage.

I need a new AML in the next season or two, and I wouldn't mind picking up a midfielder and a right-sided defender if I can get a nordegen in the first few days. I will be just doing enough to maintain 10% on my bonuses towards the end of the season,I have near perfected this.

So now my plan in a nutshell is:
- Wait for the league draw -
- Hit the professional trainer guy - and
- Use my (by then 300-350) packs to boost the crap out of my first team (11 players) at x2.

It would be the equivalent to 6-700 packs, and I'm hoping to gain 5-7% from this on my team minimum. Averaging say 5 packs per % it would be 55 packs (lets say 70 for safety) per team %. I might be able to even get over 10% extra on my team.

Doing this every year with 300-500 packs on a booster, I think it would give you a very good chance of keeping your winning team...well winning.

Is anyone already doing this, and what are the results? I am un-sure if I even should be sharing this potential goldmine!

Are you sure 2x is working on playerskills? I think, it only for the 2%, 4%, 6%, 8% and 10% bonus.

I was thinking about that, would be interested to know the answer.

I'll still be interested to do it, to see how much the gain is. Maybe after this year I'll know if it's worth it or not.

I'd like to know as well. I was under the impression it was just for bonus.

Yeah,

I think even with a 7% gain on your first team it would be a big bonus to your chances. Not sure if 250-300 will get you that though.

The 2x boost for 24h in training applies only for the training bonuses.

Guess that will only be good if we let our bonus lapse at the end of the season to save more packs..

Activation of this bonus at key times are helpful, but not worth the cost of 24T for most of those times.

Yeah, like I said, if I'm free and clear and out of the cup Ill let me bonuses lapse till next season and save all my packs. Then just use the few hundred packs, which should max out my bonus again anyway, probably without the activated bonus.

Yes, and it might help for the cup draw too, because with lesser training, your players will be less in quality at the end of the season. But, be careful though; any sign of insecurity should not be neglected. You must be sure you are going to win the league even if you get a few draws and loses in the last matches, then you can take this risk.

22 man roster with several duel/triple role players covering at least 3 of the bonuses and all 10's is doable w/o spending conditions. :)

For example, DML/ML/AML collects all 4.

EDIT: The later in the day that key matches occur, the easier it is to max the training bonuses w/o conditions.

You don't have to train the full squad if you want to save condition.
You can raise attack/defense/possession/condition with only 8 players from your substitutes.

The possession bonus and condition bonus are easier to boost. It is the attacking bonus that is more difficult to boost unless you have more than the required number of attackers for a squad of 18-22 players; that is more than 3-4 strikers and 3-4 attacking midfielders. Having multi-position players will make boosting the bonuses easier in the case where those players have double or triple roles that are from back to front rather than side to side of the pitch; training a lot of such players together in 1 session will boost more than 1-2 bonus areas. But, take into consideration that to have such multi-position players, you usually have to spend a lot of green packs (50-120 per player) or spend a lot of tokens or a combination of those two.

you get attacking bonus from MC/ML/MR's too.... right? i'm pretty sure.

Attacking I use all my mids and both strikers, get bonus on it.

At 400 packs at the end of the season. Looking now to get my squad sorted over the next 2 days, and hoping I dont get a terrible cup draw I need to prepare early for.

Most of my team are "fast trainers". I spent the 500 green packs that I had saved today. It took me from 104-111% - 1.8points on my first team average (3 million pound improvement on my newest MC). Though I was disappointed with my goalkeepers improvements, the rest earned between 6 and 10% - mostly 8-9 cept for a couple of my older perfomers.

So, it may be worth saving your green packs over the season, to see how many you can get. I think I'll end up with a lot less this season, even though, because I am up against stronger teams than me in all competitions (knocked out of the cup by one right off the bat).
