why long pass khris?

Since seasons ago (30? 40?) I set by default long passing, maybe to simplify the game/movement and put less players involved, so less options to fail and for me seems to work... let's say I try to find a direct way to score, in a straight way for one side or another, too we have to count that long/short passing will always have a % of the other option so, I prefeer set long by default for my manner to play and philosophy.

Too just to explaina little bit more my idea, reading your comment there, despite Ive lots of players in attack the game always will choose some of them to play and some of them to fail/perform worst, so as said, I prefeer set long passing by default and search for the way using the different options to focuss passing or, switching players/doing subs.
