Developing legendary player

Hi Guys,

I know, that forum is full of information, good advice, tutorials and guides. I have read all of the most important guides, the fast trainer guide, etc. etc.
On the other hand there are several topics, regarding new training system, hopes for TE 2019, about the real possibility of developing players and all of that.

My question will be simple.

Basis is, that at the moment I am on my 7 season. My team is developing season after season, with using all possible to get, greens, and finishing last season with avq around 124% and winning another triple.

Got this one guy, Edoardo de Mattia, who currently and in the past 7 seasons is the best player I ever had from the market. He was bought FT, this is the start of his third one.

First season I got him late, but the last one he was on fire. HItting the net 70 times + 30 assist in 50 games. Of course, there are better players than he is, but I don't have any better one.

And the question is. How shall I work on him in order to maintain him as the 7-8 stars player for more seasons to come. Knowing, that he will start to slow down in gaining in two seasons time. That I have only as many greens as I can get from daily videos. (plus ~150 at the moment). What is the idea for doing it with the new training system? Powertraining at the beginning of each season to some level and then leaving him for season gaining?

How do you do with all the fast trainers? What is the moment, age of the player, when you start thinking of replacing him?

Any complete solution with current game conditions?

The choice is yours.

About retirement, a 5*-6* player is competitive enough so if you can keep him in that quality, let him be in your team.

Yes, I've read this one already. My problem is that it pissess me off when the player gets nothing or 1% of skill out of 22% condition loss training scheme.

So the only way is to spend hundreds of greens for a player, which gets older or replace him by a new, young fast trainer every 4-6 seasons, hoping he will be a scorer like the one before...

i think that is what he meant in #752.

if you are low on resources you can maximize them by tanking. lol.

just give this a thought for a moment -
till the time your FTs serve you well and you are able to manage each season pretty good through farming don't tank. then when they become older and get to that point where you can't afford power training them that would be the right time to tank.
now here comes the most important point; remember why you are tanking - tanking for resources not for titles.
so don't buy FTs now. buy anyone who won't cost you more than 3 tokens. make an average team and don't rob someone else from the titles he deserve.
this way you will be able to gain maximum greens and tokens too. these tanking season try to stay level with your opponents(in terms of team quality) as this would be the best time to test for you to test tactics in friendlies, cup and CL, not in league of course. so tanking can be good till the time it doesn't it isn't bad for others.
now when you have extravagant resources you can create a legend.

wait for TE 2019 think about it after new release and updates.

@HPK pick drills with 1-2 of the lowest attributes.
For example tackling and agrresion is low enough so you can train him with 1to1 finishing,warm up,carioca,hurdle jumps etc...
Remember that drills have limits 180 per attribute(so if the drills trains 3 attributes the limit is 540 for all attributes).The closest you are to that limit
the hardest you gain.

As for how to best build a legend!

First and foremost, the current training system is terrible. I'd wait until the release of TE 2019 to pursue any serious power-training.

Acquire a 3* 18 year old player.
Make sure that player only knows one position (Do not add a second position).
Don't play him in matches until age 20+

"Playing a young fast trainer in matches means alot of skill points are acquired, and they will be added at random. This means they get added to the gray skills, which will subtract from your ability to train the most important skills to high value. Keeping the youngster out of matches means that the skill points will not be added to the less important skills at random."

Target train only the white skills at first, specifically the key ones.

For a player to get towards legendary status, you can't let the gray skills get high. As skills move up in value, the growth rate slows down. Anything above 140% is extremely slow, so need to use drills that train both gray and white skills to keep the growth rate fast. A 5* player acquired from the transfer market, unfortunately the gray skills are too high for player to be trained efficently.

They think, they were on the right track. But it's all relative! =))

Tanking was not an option for me, since I am a title hunter, but I'm thinking about starting again from lvl 1 and maybe I could spend first two seasons for resources - greens, tokens, etc. But I will miss CL titles ;)

This is a good info, works well. But, it gave me another thought, that having players with 3 different positions is not that best option, since we get a lot of white skills and only few of them grey, and then the players are mediocre rather than star player on his positions. Will see with my new academy FTs for future results.

I will see this option - but this one will require a lot of greens to develop player from 3* for three seasons up to 140%. So at first I need to harvest almost full season for that - I don't know if I will be that patient, not to spend them :)

But I know what you mean. And maybe will give a try for one winger...

BTW, I've checked the stats of these players, and having in mind, that they are not performing as they should in the league, in CL and Cup they don't play as somebody would think they should. I got him in my CL draw as well, where he is going for the title, but the results are not showing the quality difference.

@Hpk all those players above 19-20 y.o. where made like this from unlimited friendlies.
Usually it's the reserves team of an older manager who knows the tricks of the game and use that account for asso games.
Did that team promote in League the last season ?
Because most of them are staying season and win only the Cup.
Sometimes a team wins also the next Champions League so continues do tanking and playing there.

@HPK maybe with friendly games as posidon said, or you can spend 3-4K greens to achieve that.

He joined us 3 seasons ago. This was his second complete season ( yes he had played a few games in the season he was acquired. Like 5-8 matches but he has completed only 2 seasons).

He will get +30% finishing attribute this season and has good goal rate. He looks like a great player to invest many rests (i just think so). He scored less number of goals this season (don't know why) than previous season. Last season he scored around 45 goals in the league alone.

Can you please guide me whether should I use my greens?

my Eduardo De Mattia is another one year old. Wanted to share with you, how was his last season.

Unfortunately, November is busy in my business, that's why I didn't have much time to play, I've missed lots of games in the mid season, and had to fight for the league success at the end of it.

De Mattia finished as top scorer in the league, with overall quality 137%. But I missed lots of greens last season, could have been better.

He is already dominating the league (12 goals and 6 assists in first 4 games of new season).

I bought 4star player at the end of the season, ST Mark Visscher. I had 200 greens, which I spend to give him a position AMR and get him to a a decent shape, he is now 111%. And I will be investing in him and his future. He scores quite nice for a ST.

i also bought another FT winger, who was trained by me without using him in games, he will be training only in the next two seasons, will see how it will end up.

What really makes the difference, is which player you use for penalties & f-k kicker.
Last season I started a new star for my team, Ronaldinho. But I also have a legendary player in my team, R.V. Nistelroy.
I set Ronaldinho as taker for the league, so to earn the 1st scorer title and the 30% in finishing.
For R.V.N this was useless as he has a very high % so I used him as taker for the Cup and CH.L.
Ronaldinho finished top scorer in League and R.V.N top scorer of the club.

Guys, weird thing happened. A week ago I pushed deMattia to 140%. And suddenly he stopped playing well. Didn't score in any competitive game. Do not assist. I tried to move him to a different position, check his morale, nothing going on well right now.

Did you see something like this before?

Again, he was the League and mine Top Player, with 65 goals scored in 40 games plus 26 assists. Unfortunately there was no Top Scorer/ Assistant event this season.

I've spent around 100 greens during the season to lift him up a bit, and finished with 143%.

Will be difficult (more expensive) to maintain him this way for the next years to come, but he is worth it.

I missed the second legs in Cup and CL games to lose quite early this season, which is much disappointment to me. Only the league title, where I was dominating, but in the end, lost and drawn a game and it was close (2 points difference only).


So any ideas for De Mattia for this season?

In your case almost all drills that train shooting have an high average.
The lower average is SET-P DELIVERY that is at 134%. Drills above 140% are no more efficient, and your player is already 22.

Thanks a lot, I followed the advice and he is like this right now. I would like to boost his creativity, but it will cost loads of greens atm, so I think I'm done for this season right now. Or do you have any more good ideas?
