big mistake in the championship level up

How is possible that I finished eighth but the game made me do the level up?
I place eighth but I transitioned from level 13 to 14

I loose stars and i no play champions.

No, it's not a mistake or a bug.
This is almost a "rule" of the game, to promote the 8th of the league.
Next time, if you want to stay in the same level, go for the 9th position

Indeed, some times the system will promote a Club to the next level if they end at the 8th position.

This happens so the matchmaker can ensure a balanced competition for the next season and basically gives the 8th Club a chance.
