New to the game, what is the scenario that OP is describing?

Why would a team lose on purpose?

Loose to don't win a level and see how the players loose a star next neason. You miss Champions League, Nivea League, League maybe but you can take a breath and stay training in the same level till youre ready for some seasons "tank" is called, play light by me

    There are two categories.
One is teams that are tanking (don't promote so they keep their stars and a high quality)
The other is teams who have a low quality (4*-5*) players and keep them that way so to have easier opponents in asso draws.

In both cases the teams aren't interesting for the League, just to win the asso cup, the tokens, a high ranking, a show off in local (or not) fb groups
Usually this team is the reserves of a manager.

What I dont understand is, why dont genuine teams who play fair and hard get a chance at these teams in the association draw.
If there are 2 associations in same division, one a 5 star and 1 a 7 star, they never face each other.
The 7 stars get only super tough matchups against other 7 star/ 8 star associations and damage their chances of progressing.
While on the other hand, the 5 star associations can cruise to higher divisions facing comparatively mediocre teams.
In all honesty, it does seem the association matchup algorithm is screwed up a little in this respect

We have recently revamped our association with higher quality teams who regularly train and attend matches.
We hoped this would lead us to the Platinum from Gold 1.
But over the past 3 association weeks, the matches have been against teams full of 8/9 star players giving us no chance.
Having 1 such matchup a season is understandable, even 2 when youre unlucky, but having them on 3 consecutive weeks is ...
