How to divide the league team in one season

so the distribution in one league depend on the friend list? not a random? that's suck... if I don't want to compete against them, i must unfriend them first. is that right? but how to do that? because in that game don't have a menu to unfriend a friend only have add friend menu.

after a few days, we will be start new league. if I remove my friend from my list.will we not in one league? I don't want in one league with the same team every season. Please help.
